“Anxiety in the heart of a person causes depression.
But a good word makes it glad.”
Proverbs 12:25
MISSION AND VISION:
There is and can be only one vision and mission of a truly Christ-like church. The primary vision and mission of GWM and all its auxiliaries is therefore God’s vision for the world He so loved, that none should perish, but all will come through faith to the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus, being led by grace (John 3:16; Rom. 3:21-24).
Jesus Christ, the Son of God therefore commanded us to make disciples (followers) of Him of all peoples (Mtt 2819,20) who would willingly surrender their entire life, their choices, careers and destinies to be effectively and positively affected by His principles and values which are of higher and excellent standard compared to ours.
Such people (those who come to Christ) must first allow Jesus to be their Lord and Saviour by allowing Christ to be formed in them.
And those who adhere to His saving grace and Lordship have a promise: God’s enduring peace, protection, provision, joy, prosperity, and true happiness on earth, and life everlasting after physical death – they have effectively ‘passed from death into life according to John 5:24’.
This is our vision, to introduce all who the Holy Spirit make willing to come to Christ as their Lord and Saviour ( John 16:8 – Holy Spirit converts and converts. John 1:41,42 – Andrew introduces Christ to Peter. John 1:43 – Jesus finds Phillips. John 1:44 – Philip introduces Christ to Nathaniel. John 4:42 – the woman at the well introduces Christ to her village. The operative phrase here is come and see…our own testimonies about what the Lord has done in our own lives can be that powerful!).
Jesus’ commandment was simple and straightforward: ‘Go and make disciples of all nations …’ (Mtt. 28:17-20). Nowhere does He commands go and convict and convert all nations…!
This command is faceless and includes all – all to be discipled and all to make disciples! A living and growth-church must daily feed on disciple making. And thus, evangelism in all proven forms must be pursued with all intensity. Every member must therefore seek to grow into maturity, and extend ministries to others in the manner that would be structured by GWM.
